National Conference 2018
Welcome to APNA's Nurseforce for the Future
It is with great delight that APNA announce Nurseforce for the Future, the 10th Annual National Conference for nurses working in primary health care, to be held at the Brisbane Convention and Exhibition Centre from 10 to 12 May 2018.
The primary health care nursing workforce is the fastest growing area of nursing, making up around one in eight of the 640,000 registered health professionals in Australia. APNA advocates for the pivotal role of primary health care nurses in the healthcare system. APNA gives nurses a voice, campaigns on their behalf on relevant national health policy, and endeavours to advance the education and career development of nurses.
The APNA national conference provides a preeminent platform to recognise and celebrate what has been achieved by primary health care nurses, and to further cultivate the expertise and collegiality of our formidable nurse workforce – the Nurseforce for the Future.
APNA's vision is a healthy Australia through best practice primary health care nursing. Australia’s ‘nurseforce’ is a strong, skilled, scientific, diverse, future-focused movement. There are nurses in primary health care Australia-wide endeavouring to optimise their capacity to bring about sustainable, positive health outcomes for individuals, families, communities, and our nation.
Nurseforce for the Future is the opportunity to showcase nurses who are responding to their environment and employing innovative, evidence-based approaches to deliver safe, high quality, patient-centred care. APNA’s tenth annual national conference for nurses working in primary health care will continue its longstanding reputation for harnessing the aspirations and expertise of the diverse delegation; inspiring personal and professional growth.
We are calling on our nurseforce to make a contribution to the conference program - submit an abstract and have your voice heard, learning passed on, experience shared!
A broad, high quality, relevant program is taking shape. Covering both clinical and non-clinical aspects of the role of the nurse in primary health care, the program will explore:
