The Practical Application of Quality Improvement in a Primary Care Nursing Setting
This session will provide an introduction to quality improvement with a focus on how primary care nurses can use quality improvement to improve communication within the team, create more efficient systems, and improve patient outcomes.
The panel members will share their real world experiences in the application of quality improvement and demonstrate how it has helped them to make positive changes in their workplace. Time will be allocated for questions from the audience. At the completion of this session attendees will be able to:
- Understand basic quality improvement principles
- Plan a quality improvement activity to improve communication
- Plan a quality improvement activity to improve patient care
- Evaluate the result of a quality improvement activity
