A Specialist Wound Clinic in General Practice: Does it work?
After working in the Austin Health Would Clinic for over 14 years Jan Rice became aware of the need to try to bring thespecialist to the patient and not the patient to the specialist.
This presentation will explore establishing a specialist wound clinic in a general practice as a means of reducing waiting times for wound assessment and appropriate interventions and using the clinic as a clinical placement setting for other practice nurses in order to upskill them in the challenges of complex wounds.
