Asthma Best Practice: A National Asthma Education Program Changing PHC Practice - Judi Wicking
Since 2002 the Asthma Best Practice National education program has been funded by the Australian Government. The aim of the program is to disseminate evidence-based best-practice asthma management Australian guidelines to primary care health professionals.
The program has several workshop types relevant for primary care health professionals covering asthma and spirometry education. Some workshops have been developed with specific roles in mind including general practice nurses, Aboriginal health workers/practitioners and pharmacists.
Evaluation of these workshops over the past 15 years has shown a targeted disease-focused and unbiased education program is relevant and has impacted primary care health professionals learning and change of practice.
