There is strong evidence to show dietary and lifestyle interventions reduce the risk of chronic disease and are more effective than medication alone. While low fat diets remain popular for weight loss, there is increasing evidence for the use of higher protein diets for weight management and improving risk factors of the metabolic syndrome. Advanced Accredited Practising Dietitian Melanie McGrice will share the latest evidence and dietary strategies for managing risk factors of the metabolic syndrome.
