Nurse-led Clinics in the UK - Sharing Experiences with Australia
Nurse-led clinics have grown enormously in the UK since the latter 1990s. Dr Richard Hatchett, a nurse tutor from London, shares the UK's experience with Australian colleagues by exploring the wider factors that appear to push this form of healthcare delivery and assesses clinics' effectiveness and role in modern healthcare. He outlines the areas which help a clinic's development, such as a good business and operational plan, and makes the case for evaluating patient 'experience' and not 'satisfaction' alone. The current evidence base, together with research gaps, are explored.
