Methamphetamine Implications for Primary Health Care
This presentation will provide an overview of the current trends, patterns of use, clinical presentations and withdrawal management of methamphetamine.
By the end of the session the audience will:
- Develop a basic understanding of the neuropharmacology of methamphetamine,
- Have a raised awareness of the pattern of methamphetamine use in Australia,
- Consider management strategies for acute methamphetamine intoxication and withdrawal in their own practice, and
- Be aware of resources available and referral pathways.
