Steering clear of Dr Google
Most primary health care professionals would be aware of the alarming trend of self-diagnosis using Dr Google. With over 80% of Australians now going online for health information this is a trend primary care practitioners need to get ahead of.
This session will explore the benefits for general practice nurses and patients of using the freely available websites, online tools and telephone support services funded by government and managed by Healthdirect Australia. Covering all life stages and health concerns people experience along the way, our services are a valuable source of support for the clinical encounter, having been developed in collaboration with clinical panels, including Australian general practitioners and nurses.
