Preventing Child Obesity in Primary Care: The 'Growing Healthy' App
Infant feeding behaviours associated with the development of obesity such as formula feeding, feeding beyond satiety and early introduction of solids are potentially modifiable.
Providing support to parents to promote healthy infant feeding using phone apps (mHealth interventions) is a novel yet untested approach. This paper reports on the effectiveness of Growing healthy, an app for parents of infants 0–9 months that encourages behaviours associated with healthy rather than excess weight gain. This study provides new information on the feasibility and effectiveness of a novel infant feeding intervention.
