Expanding Clinical Training Capacity in Aboriginal Health - Susan Mills
Presented by the Project Lead: Susan Mills, Health Clinic Lismore.
A nurse-led clinic at Southern Cross University Health Clinic was developed to manage the health condition of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people. The aim was to service the health needs of the local community and act as an outreach for the local Jullums Aboriginal Medical Service (AMS). The clinic aims to increase undergraduate student clinical placements in Aboriginal health - small grant funding was awarded to increase the capacity of training of undergraduate nurses in this space.
The project was collaborated with the local Aboriginal Medical Service and the Professional Experience Lecturer at Southern Cross University.
