Career and Education Framework and Toolkit for Nurses in Primary Health Care
APNA has been funded by the Australian Government Department of Health to deliver the Nursing in Primary Health Care (NiPHC) Program. Project 2 of the NiPHC Program is the development of a Career and Education Framework and Toolkit, supporting career and education progression and improving employment opportunities, recruitment and retention for nurses in primary health care.
This project is expanding on the work previously undertaken by APNA, to support the career development and opportunities for nurses in primary health care settings.
APNA is currently engaging in an extensive stakeholder consultation process, involving key stakeholder interviews, workshops and focus groups. We are seeking the input and involvement of all nurses, and their colleagues, with an interest in primary health care in Australia.

Education and Career Framework for Nurses in General Practice
Completed in 2015, an Education and Career Framework for Nurses in General Practice was developed by APNA. This Framework contributes to the existing workforce sustainability activities to support entry to practice, retention and productivity of nurses in general practice and is the foundation of the Education and Career Framework and Toolkit for Nurses in Primary Health Care Project.
